Return Path Has Interns! Meet DevOps Intern Ben Bailey
Email Genius Academy only has three weeks left? What!?
We know, it’s upsetting. We’re going to miss our interns. But, before they leave us, we want to give you a chance to meet them all. This week, we will spotlight Ben Bailey! He’s a DevOps intern who works at our office in Austin, Texas!
I’m from Austin, Texas, but spend most of the year in Amherst, Massachusetts, where I attend Hampshire College. I study Computer Science and Philosophy there. I really enjoy programming, reading, and music.
What made you want to intern at Return Path?
This is my third summer here, and it’s hard to resist coming back each time. As for what attracted me initially, I’m really into various forms of optimization, and Return Path has a software philosophy that highly values those ideas.
What are your main projects at Return Path?
I’ve worked on a few different teams this summer. Mostly, I’ve been working on using a tool to automate our application structure and moving our existing infrastructure over to a new system.
What do you enjoy the most about being an intern at Return Path?
I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with so many different teams, and I’ve found each one helpful and knowledgable. Working at Return Path has also given me the opportunity to take what I’ve learned in school and apply it to challenging, rewarding problems.
When you’re not working, what can you be found doing in Austin?
Probably attending a concert in one of Austin’s great music venues.
What is your spirit animal?
I would have to go with a cat because of their inquisitive nature.
