As the summer starts coming to an end, we are preparing for a busy few months ahead in Europe. From exhibiting and speaking at key industry events, to hosting our annual World Tour, we will be spending the rest of the year sharing our expertise on email deliverability with industry peers, top brands, and—most importantly—our customers.
Here’s an overview of what we have planned:
dmexco, Cologne, 13th-14th September
We will be kicking off the Autumn months by exhibiting and speaking at dmexco, which is commonly regarded as one of the leading digital marketing conferences in Europe.
On day two of the show, our very own Guy Hanson and Sebastian Kluth will be running a Work Lab session, where they will be discussing the challenges around optimising email programs for Gmail subscribers. Indeed, for many marketers, delivering into Gmail inboxes is one of the hardest tasks and is becoming a growing problem as Gmail continues to lead the way as millennials’ mailbox of choice. If you’re attending the show, don’t miss Guy and Sebastian providing valuable insight into the intricacies of the Gmail filtering process, why marketers need to understand Gmail’s rules, and the steps they should be making to ensure their emails are delivered to Gmail inboxes.
See our previous blog on our upcoming presence at dmexco for more details on how to meet with our experts at this event.
You’ll be able to find us in Hall 6 on stand C083. Make sure you stop by at the end of each day when we will be hosting our own happy hour!
Festival of Marketing, London, 4th-5th October
In October, we will be attending and speaking at the Festival of Marketing, which is the largest global event dedicated to brand marketers.
At 10.15am on day one, Guy will be taking to the stage to talk about how to maximize the impact of email personalization. Personalized marketing emails are commonly used by brands to improve subscriber engagement, but what happens when you get it wrong? Guy will be using his email expertise to explain how marketers can use data points to drive more effective personalization, why personalization now goes beyond a name, and what recent events such as the UK elections and high profile data breaches can teach us about how to use personalized emails.
We will also be running four Jam Sessions at the event on the topic of ‘Email marketing: Getting close and personal’. Personalisation is one of the key components of email marketing success. It adds relevance, increases engagement and drives response and conversions. Join one of our sessions where we’ll review campaign examples from UK brands, comparing assumptions with actual results based on Return Path email data.
These sessions will be facilitated by Return Path’s email strategists Adrian Nabarro and Dan Stone. Book early using the Festival of Marketing app as places are limited:
There is also the chance to attend a Q&A roundtable with Guy in our experience room at 1 pm on Wednesday 4 October. This will be on a first come, first served basis so we encourage you to arrive early to avoid disappointment!
And there is more! Visit our Festival of Marketing event page to find out what other highlights we have prepared for you in our FOM17 Email Experience Room.

Return Path’s World Tour
Hot on the heels of the Festival of Marketing is our annual email deliverability and optimisation symposium, which sees our experts visit Sau Paolo, London, Paris and Sydney on a whirlwind tour to not only showcase our email optimisation technology, but to educate visitors on how best to drive results from their email marketing campaigns.
The UK World Tour is taking place at The Mayfair Hotel on Tuesday 10 October and will include key sessions from our CEO, Matt Blumberg and Guy Hanson, our Senior Director, International Professional Services, as well as a technology showcase that will demonstrate the value of email by BriteVerify and Liveclicker. Furthermore, some of our valued customers, such as Pizza Hut Restaurants and Fidelity International will be talking about how they are using Return Path’s email optimisation solutions to improve their email programs. To top of an action-packed day, we will be hosting a cocktail reception for guests to mingle and discuss the day’s events.
You can register to attend the event here.
With these great opportunities to educate, inspire and network, it’s an exciting time for Return Path in Europe. We look forward to hopefully seeing you at one–or more–of these events!
